just a question about putting the trx roof aerial back on..

does it have any wires running to it or does it earth to the body

doesn't look like there is anything to hook it up to, i.e a wire of some sort...

just in case it matter

if its the type that bolts in the roof just above the front windscreen then
the part of the aerial that sits inside the roof has the thick cable attached to it.
that should run down to the rear of the radio.
if there's no cable then you don't have a working radio aerial,
maybe take a photo?

84 series 2 trx

should have a nub type plastic plate, similar to the GX aerial mount that is connected to the aerial. as for earthing, i doubt there is one, it just bolts to the roof of the car for stability.
or if you were just after the look of the TRX antenna, just bolt it up and use a hidden antenna  thumbup
