Have you checked anything so far?

Checked the usual things? Spark plugs, fuel supply etc?

More info needed - does it have an electric fuel pump? If so, check/replace the fuel filter - some after-market electric pumps were fitted with an extra filter near the tank. Series 1 L20b engines had the old style points distributors - replace & adjust the points, check the timing is about 10deg BTDC. Series 2 had the electronic dizzy & were a great improvement only needing the dizzy cap replaced when the plug lead points inside the cap were burnt away.
The carby may need a clean out & new accelerator pump/plunger fitted.
Don't forget to look at Ben's suggestions (Imago).
Post up a pic or 2 so we know what model you have.
